The Challenge:
Increase Sportsman Channel’s social media presence by getting users to like their Facebook page.
The Objective:
Get Sportsman Channel social media and television user bases to get on social media platform Facebook, like Sportsman Channel’s page along with their sponsors.
The Solution:
Entice users through television promos, social media, Google Ads to enter a Facebook contest app where the user is required to like Sportsman Channel’s Facebook page in order to enter contest and forwarding link. The forwarding link takes the user to the actual contest page at Sportsmanchannel.com where a form is filled out, data is collected about the user, and entered into the contest.
The Result:
A successful experience where a user can easily click two buttons ( the like button and the enter contest button) in order to get to a contest page.
This contest app played a major role in helping grow Sportsman Channel’s Facebook social media growth by:
EOY 2010 - 20k subscribers
EOY 2011 - 106k subscribers
EOY 2012 - 250k+ subscribers
1 Like = 1 Contest Entry
Using Facebook’s API, if a user hasn't already liked Sportsman Channel’s Facebook page they are presented with this call to action in order to progress to the contest.
Contest Entry
After getting past the like my page wall the user can interact with video or images to get more information about the product. But let’s not kid ourselves, the user just wants to click the Enter Contest button.
After this point the user will be taken to a form to fill out at Sportsmanchannel.com where they will actually enter the contest.
